Replacement number: Approximately 15 million windshield are replaced in USA and 9 million in Europe every year.

Safety numbers: National statistics show nearly 7 out of 10 auto glass replacements fail to be installed properly and safely

Landfill numbers: Windshields are not commonly recycled because they are made from laminated glass, which is created using two sheets of glass with a clear resin called Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) between. It is the resin interlay that keeps theglass together when damaged, but it is also difficult to separate the glass and inner plastic layers and re-purpose the PVB. To be more precise, roughly 15 million windshields are replaced each year in the United States. The vast majority of these replaced windshields, equivalent to about 600 million pounds of glass and plastic, have been ending up in landfills.
